About the show:

Evening Prayer is a performing arts performance that challenges the viewer to reflect on how we engage in the political landscape. It communicates topics that deal with current cultural challenges such as polarization and discrimination, but which through dance art, newly composed music, video and an exciting scenography encourage new forms of communication.

This is what choreographer Sudesh Adhana says about the Evening Prayer project:

" We as a civilizations value the writing of words more than any other form of communication. On top of this thinking, the complexity of a language has been simplified to reach a mass. We are getting information from social media to a point where world leaders are using such platforms to communicate.Like in every aspect of the world everything has been observed through the lens of capitalism, from monoculture to monopoly on business.

In this environment, it is paramount to find a way to create new forms of communication. One of the venues is art and finding collaboration with diverse people to address the ghost of singular cultural movement. Re-introduction of the collaboration and cancel out the polarization philosophy of the present systems. The work aims to encourage the audience to reflect and rethink the way we are engaging with our political landscape. It highlights the dangers of polarization, dogmatic laws and the result of non-action or silences or indifference to discrimination. "

Duration: about 1 hour.
